Southeast Regional Sea Turtle Meeting

Hello fellow turtlers!

On behalf of the Southeast Regional Sea Turtle Network’s Board of Directors and our meeting Planning Committee, welcome to the run up to SERSTM 2025! Please start making plans to join us as we convene in Hilton Head, South Carolina for our biennial meeting, February 4-6,2025.

This year’s theme is “Navigating Challenges, Optimizing Solutions.” At this point in our decades-long sea turtle conservation journey, we are seeing some successes but they often come hand in hand with new or increased challenges. Some of these demand new solutions, but many require that we re-examine and refine current efforts. At this meeting our sea turtle community will gather in workshops, sessions, keynote addresses, and social events to share ways to navigate these issues and optimize our
actions.

Our venue will be the beautiful and turtle-friendly Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa. The location provides lots of opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty, history, and cuisine of the Lowcountry. In addition to sharing and learning with your sea turtle friends and colleagues, you can explore the island, visit nearby Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge, and appreciate the rich Gullah culture and traditions of the South Carolina Sea Islands.

We look forward to seeing you all there in February!

Sincerely,
Ray Carthy
President, Southeast Regional Sea Turtle Network
